Donald Trump has claimed he is too busy with the Iran war to give evidence in his defamation case against the BBC. Lawyers acting for the US president denied he was trying to avoid being deposed and argued, in court documents filed in Florida on Wednesday, that he was preoccupied with “matters of national importance”.
